My Pets

Over the years my girlfriend and I have cared for several pets. They have been such a blessing.

Lily

Lily was a kitten in dear need of care at the shelter. She just stole our hearts. She was cared for attentively for many weeks till she recovered. She's the most excellent cat ever. Oh yeah, she says hi when you walk in the room.

Felix

Felix was a stray cat that would come around our house for food. We grew concerned about him and began feeding him. It turned out a neighbor was feeding him. The freezing winter left us with no other option: we had to adopt him. He's gained quite some weight since then. He's a gentle giant, and an excellent intruder.

Nina

Nina was the mot timid one at the Bloomington Animal Shelter but at home she is the most friendly.

She really loves to play and sleep in my arms.

Maggie

Maggie is an alpha cat. She was adopted with her daughter Nina. She does look very much like Daisy but they have subtle differences as well as different pesonalities.

It took her a  while to get comfortable in  our home but after 4 months she is "the undisputed alpha". She loves pets and treats.

Jasper

After adopting Marvin we realized that he needed a cage mate. We adopted him from a pet store in Covington, KY.

He was the runt of the group, almost the size of a finger, but he grew fast. He was a friendly and gentle rat who liked to play and eat yogurt treats.

He died of old age this year.

Marvin

Marvin was rescued from a stupid girl who would leave him without food or water for days. Because of his early life he was a food hoarder, and he had plenty of it.

Curious little guy! I miss him. He died of old age.

Scrappy

Scrappy was a friendly guina pig. He didn't get along with the other piggies, but he was fond of carrots. He could probably just live off carrots and apples.

Oscar

Oscar is an alpha guina pig. He was rescued from a pet store where he was mixed with females. Even though he's younger than Skippy he is the boss.

Skippy, whose white nose is on the left, and Oscar get along very well.

Skippy

Skippy (on the right) is a really nice guinea pig. He is the oldest of all our pets. He likes timothy hay and pets on his nose.

Squeaker

We adopted sqeaker from a pet store. His complexion was just very pretty. He was along for a few weeks till we realized that he needed a friend.

Skippy was very young and was thrilled to see a friend. He would run circles around Squeaker.

Squeaker had crooked teeth which had to filed continously. He died the age of two.

Daisy

Daisy was the sweetest cat. She didn't like to be picked up, but she loved to be pet, speak, and play.

We adopted her as a small kitten along with her brother Toby. They both had feline leukemia, and she lived aproximately 3 years.

Toby

Toby

Toby was a gentle cat. Along with his sister Daisy they enriched our lives. He loved to play with Daisy.

He too had feline leukemia since a baby and lived to approximately 7 months.
